Insurance Plans We Accept

COMMERCIAL/PRIVATE INSURANCE

Marin Specialty Surgery Center is in-network with the following commercial health insurance plans:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem Blue Cross
  • Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Health Net
  • Pacificare
  • United Healthcare
  • We are also Marin IPA HMO providers.

If you do not see your insurance plan listed, please contact our billing department to discuss the details of your plan with us. Your insurance carrier may be a part of one of the networks listed above.

In the case that our facility is not in-network with your insurance plan, we encourage you to call our billing department and discuss your plan with us. In most cases, benefits are still available to you.

Your coinsurance amount is due on or before your date of service.  We will submit your bill directly to your private insurance company.  A bill will be sent to your secondary insurance upon receipt of payment or denial from your primary insurance.  If you have no secondary insurance, a bill will be sent to you for any balance after receipt of payment or denial from your insurance company.  We must make a copy of each insurance card at the time of registration.

WORKER’S COMPENSATION
We will submit your bill directly to your auto insurance/work comp insurance if your procedure is the result of an accident. Certification for your treatment must be obtained prior to your treatment.  In addition we ask that you provide your claim number, date-of-accident, and insurance claim address at the time of registration.

AUTO INSURANCE
If you wish to use your auto insurance policy’s med-pay benefit, we request payment in full at the time of service. Our billing department will submit the bill for services to your claims adjuster. In the case that all charges are paid in-full by your automobile insurance, you will be refunded. In the case that your med-pay is exhausted and no payment is issued, we will file the claim on your behalf with your private/commercial insurance plan. To maximize your med-pay reimbursement, we ask that you provide us with all of the relevant details of your automobile insurance claim in advance.  Please feel free to give our billing department a call to discuss the details of using your automobile insurance.

MEDICARE
We accept assignment of benefits. A bill will be sent to your secondary insurance upon receipt of payment or denial from Medicare.  If you have no secondary insurance, a bill will be sent to you for any balance after payment or denial from Medicare.  We must make a copy of both your Medicare card and secondary insurance card at the time of registration. If you have signed your Medicare rights over to a commercial insurance company, such as Freedom Blue Cross or Health Net Pearl plans, we ask that you provide us with that card at the time of registration.

SELF PAY-COSTMETIC SURGERY-ELECTIVE SURGERY
You will be contacted prior to your surgery with an estimated procedure cost for your surgery. Payment must be received on or before the date-of-service.

At the time of service you will also be asked for payment for your Anesthesiologist’s fees. Our billing department will call you in advance to discuss these fees. Please be advised that your Anesthesiologist’s fee cannot be paid with a credit or debit card at this time. Your check or money-order can be made payable to the Anesthesia Consultants of Marin, and should be separate from your payment to MSSC.
